A Dermatologist is a physician who is trained to evaluate and manage pediatric and adult patients with benign and malignant disorders of the skin, hair, nails and adjacent mucous membranes. A dermatologist has had additional training and experience in the following:
The diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, melanomas, moles, and other tumors of the skin.
The management of contact dermatitis and other inflammatory skin disorders.
The recognition of the skin manifestations of systemic and infectious diseases.
Surgical techniques used in dermatology.
Dermatologists also manage cosmetic disorders of the skin, including hair loss, scars, and the skin changes associated with aging.
Dr. Bell conducts dermatology clinic the first, third and fifth Tuesday of every month in the specialty services area from 8:30 – 4:00 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 618-635-2200. A physician referral is not required.
Other than the physician(s) employed through Community Memorial Medical Clinic, the physicians on staff at this hospital, including but not limited to, emergency physicians, pathologists, radiologist, anesthesia providers, and other hospital based physicians are NOT employees or agents of the hospital, unless otherwise posted or advised. All such physicians are independent contractors who have been granted the privilege of using this facility for the care and treatment of their patients. These physicians exercise their own independent medical judgment and they are not subject to the supervision or control of the hospital with respect to treatment.
