The safety of Community Hospital of Staunton patients, visitors (as allowed), employees, and providers is paramount during this virus outbreak. Therefore, beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25th, Community Hospital of Staunton will only allow entrance into the facility through the main entrance, at which point, patients will be screened with a series of questions including the following:

Are you currently experiencing any of the following:

  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Fever of 100° F or above

OR have you:

  • Traveled within the past 14 days from an affected area
  • Been in recent contact with someone who has suspected or confirmed COVID 19

Patients will also have their temperatures taken as part of the screening process.

Physical Therapy patients (only) can also use the North entrance where they will be screened as well.

Community Hospital of Staunton is a 25 bed, short stay, not for profit, non-denominational hospital. It has been open to service the citizens of the area since 1951. The Hospital is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Community Hospital of Staunton maintains medical/surgical units and multi-bed special care units. Twenty-four hour emergency care is available 365 days a year. Nurses are specially trained in cardiac life support, trauma life support and specialized pediatric care.

Community Hospital of Staunton provides specialty services for the following: Audiology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, Podiatry, Urology, Oncology and Wound Care
